A born problem solver, Matthew brings this fresh approach to his legal practice. His work in the niche areas of bankruptcy and insolvency law is complemented by his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, and corporate law.

Matthew’s practical skills as a litigator running his own firm for 14 years are enhanced by his international training, and his specialized education in bankruptcy and insolvency. He has represented Trustees, debtors, bankrupts, creditors, receivers, and others in all types of litigation and insolvency proceedings at all different levels of the Court including the Superior Court of Justice, Commercial List, Bankruptcy, and others, Court of Appeal, Divisional Court, and other tribunals. 

Many of Matthew’s cases have been cited in the Ontario Reports and other periodicals. He holds a Masters Degree in Bankruptcy and Insolvency Law, and has written extensively on bankruptcy and its interplay in different areas of law. Additionally, he has been called to present in different conferences.

His advice is sought after by clients of all sizes in financial distress, or seeking an effective, pragmatic approach to their problems. Matthew enjoys advocating for his clients, while at the same time seeking the best practical solution that is both time and cost effective. 

When not in the office, Matthew spends time with his wife, son and two daughters, coaching sports, playing golf, and enjoying all life’s challenges.
